Terms & Conditions
Operated by Legacy Wealth Consulting LLC (trading as Truition). Last updated August 2026.
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Truition website and membership service (the “Service”), which is operated by Legacy Wealth Consulting LLC (the “Seller”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), trading as Truition. By creating an account, browsing the directory, posting a report, or subscribing to a membership, you confirm that you have read these Terms and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Truition is an independent school directory that combines public school data with parent-reported cost and experience information. The Service is provided for general informational and research purposes.
2. Who you are contracting with
You are contracting with Legacy Wealth Consulting LLC, the Seller of the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you are an individual, you represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
3. Your account
You must provide accurate, current information when creating an account and keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized access to your account.
4. Acceptable use & prohibited conduct
You agree not to misuse the Service. Without limitation, you will not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose;
- Post content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
- Submit false, misleading, or fabricated cost reports or parent experiences, or coordinate with others to manipulate reported figures or votes;
- Attempt to interfere with the Service’s security — including introducing malware, probing or scraping our systems, reverse engineering, or circumventing technical limits, paywalls, or rate limits;
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to extract data from the directory at scale, except for personal, non-commercial research consistent with our usage limits;
- Resell, redistribute, or re-license content from the Service without our permission.
We may moderate, edit, hide, or remove any user-submitted content that violates these Terms or that we believe is inaccurate, harmful, or off-topic.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, design, compiled data, and branding are owned by Legacy Wealth Consulting LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial research as long as you comply with these Terms.
Content you submit (such as cost reports and experiences) remains yours, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, edit, and distribute that content within the Service for the purpose of operating and improving it.
Public school data shown on Truition is drawn from the U.S. National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and other public sources; the underlying facts are not owned by us, but our selection, organization, and presentation of that data is protected.
6. Memberships, payments, and Paddle
Some features of Truition require a paid membership ($4.99/month with a 7-day free trial, or $39/year). Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
For payment, billing, taxes, subscription term and renewal, cancellation, and refund mechanics, see Paddle’s Buyer Terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms and our Refund Policy. You can manage or cancel your membership at any time from My membership.
7. No warranty; service level
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any reported cost, tuition figure, or school detail is accurate, complete, or current. School information changes frequently, and parent-reported data reflects individual experiences that may not be representative. You should always verify any figure directly with the school before relying on it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legacy Wealth Consulting LLC and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of the Service is limited to the total amount you paid us for the membership in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or, if you have not paid for a membership, to USD $50. Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay amounts owed, or pose a security, fraud, or abuse risk, or if you repeatedly or seriously violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service and cancel your membership at any time. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately, though you keep access until the end of any paid period as described in our Refund Policy. We may retain submitted content and account data as needed to operate the Service or as required by law.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California for any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify members of material changes before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
