Rose E. Helm

Head of School

Rose E. Helm was hired by long-time Head of School Ray Michaud to teach Fifth Grade English in the early 2000s and returned to JTD in 2017. She is also a parent of a JTD graduate.

JTD offers a challenging academic program including language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, technology, and the visual and performing arts. It emphasizes 21st-century skills, character education, service learning, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Financial assistance is available at all grade levels and based solely on need, with approximately $1.5 million provided for tuition assistance and other school-related expenses in the 2025-2026 school year. JTD uses the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need.

The admissions process involves completing an inquiry form, attending a tour, submitting an application, and participating in parent interviews and student assessments. Applications are accepted approximately one year prior to enrollment, with specific deadlines for Kindergarten and Transfer students.

What they ask for: Inquiry form, application, parent/guardian interview, student assessment, academic transcripts (current and previous years), LAIS teacher recommendation form, and recent standardized test scores (for Grades 4-6 transfers).
