John D. Fixx

Head of School

John Fixx, a 40-year veteran of independent school leadership, joined The Country School in July 2013 and became Head of School in July 2014. He previously served as Headmaster at Chase Collegiate for 10 years and worked at The Country School in the 1990s.

Curriculum & special classes

Homework Haven is an after-school quiet study time for 4th-8th Grade students (Grades 5-8 from 3:20 to 5 p.m.; Grades 4-5 from 3:15 to 4 p.m.). Owl's Nest after-school program is available until 6 p.m.

Cost

Owl's Nest: $15.25 hourly drop-in rate or $3,670 for one fee rate. Homework Haven (Grades 5-8): $645.75 for the year. Owlet Homework Haven (Grades 4-5): $165 for the year.

Admissions

The admissions process includes a campus tour for families, followed by a student visit which is a 15-minute screening for early childhood applicants or a full shadow day for grades 1-8. Families then submit an online application and provide online submissions of records and references.
