Barry Wright has worked in small independent schools in Seattle for over three decades, founding the fifth grade at The Valley School in 1994 and leading it as director for six years. He became Head of School at Perkins in 2010, drawn by its progressive, child-centered philosophy and caring community.

Before school

After-school EDP is available from dismissal to 6:00pm. It offers a variety of activities, clubs, quiet spaces, and free choice toys and games. All-day EDP is also offered during school closures such as parent/teacher conferences, mid-winter and spring breaks, and certain teacher development days.
Cost
For the 2025-2026 school year, the daily drop-in fee for after-school care is $29.50 and the discounted annual fee is $4,428. The annual rate includes full day care (8:00am-5:30pm) for mid-winter break, spring break, and most teacher in-service days. Space for morning EDP beginning at 7:30am is limited and requires enrollment offers. Attending morning EDP without prior enrollment begins at 8:00am with no additional fee.
