Linda Schreibstein, a long time educator with a degree in Psychology, opened Edlin School in 1989 as a co-ed school designed to meet the needs of gifted and talented children in the Reston area. Her experience and education in child development helped her design and establish a curriculum based on research that supports a multi-tiered approach to education.
Curriculum & special classes
Edlin School integrates a classic curriculum, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) and character education using proven teaching methods for gifted learners. The advanced academic curriculum includes language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, athletics, performing and visual arts, foreign languages, and technology, with a project-based approach.
